  • Dr. David Perlmutter

    Dr. Perlmutter is a Board-Certified Neurologist and six-time New York Times best selling author. He serves on the Board of Directors and is a Fellow of the American College of Nutrition. Author of Drop Acid, Brain Wash, Brain Maker & Grain Brain.

  • Dr. Jeff Volek

    During the last 25 years, Dr. Jeff Volek has been conducting ketogenic diet, nutritional supplement, and exercise studies including highly-managed free-living and controlled-feeding studies covering a broad range of populations and analyzing a wide range of physiological outcomes.

  • Dr. Ben Bikman

    Benjamin Bikman earned a Ph.D. in Bioenergetics at East Carolina University with a focus on the adaptations to metabolic surgeries in obesity. He continued to explore metabolic disorders, with a particular focus on insulin resistance, as a postdoctoral fellow with the Duke-National University of Singapore.

  • Dr. Steven Benner

    Dr. Benner is the founder of the Foundation for Applied Molecular Evolution (Ffame) in Florida and the Westheimer Institute for Science and Technology. From 1997-2005 he was the V. T. and Louise Jackson Distinguished Professor of Chemistry at the University of Florida and a member of the faculty of the Department of Molecular Biology.

  • Dr. Dom D’Agostino

    A researcher and professor with a diverse background in neuroscience, molecular pharmacology, nutrition and physiology, Dominic D’Agostino, Ph.D., is a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Physiology at the University of South Florida (USF) Morsani College of Medicine.

  • Dr. Andrew Koutnik

    Andrew Koutnik is a Research Scientist at Sansum Diabetes Research Institute. Dr. Koutnik received a degree in Exercise Physiology from Florida State University, as well as the Atlantic Coast Conference Meeting of Minds Award, Bess Ward Thesis Award,and Honors in the Major Medallion while investigating how neurological disease and mental health status influence the cardiovascular and nervous systems.

  • Dr. Nick Bellissimo

    Dr. Bellissimo is an Associate Professor and Director of the Nutrition Discovery Labs in the School of Nutrition at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly known as Ryerson University).

  • Dr. Paul Reynolds

    Paul Reynolds earned a master’s degree in reproductive toxicology and a doctorate degree in molecular and developmental biology. He is a pulmonary scientist with expertise in biomedical responses to diverse environments.

  • Dr. Charles Cavo

    Dr. Cavo is Chief Medical Officer and Pounds Transformation Co-Founder, with his wife, Michelle Cavo, PA-C. As an OB/GYN at The Hospital of Central Connecticut, Dr. Cavo became increasingly concerned with how the obesity epidemic was negatively affecting his patients and decided to make finding a solution his life’s work.

  • Dr. Philip Prins

    Dr. Philip Prins is currently Chair and Professor of the Exercise Physiology Department at Grove City College (GCC). He is originally from Cape Town, South Africa. Dr. Philip Prins holds a B.S. and M.S. degree in Kinesiology from Georgia Southern University. He earned his PhD in Exercise Physiology with a specialization in Human Performance and Nutrition from the University of Pittsburgh.

  • Dr. Janine DeBlasi

    Dr. Janine DeBlasi is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of South Florida (USF) Morsani College of Medicine in the laboratory of Dr. Dominic D’Agostino.

  • Dr. Nick Norwitz

    Dr. Nicholas (Nick) G. Norwitz is a clinical researcher with emphasis on human metabolism and ketogenic diets. He completed his undergraduate studies at Dartmouth, where he graduated as Valedictorian majoring in cellular biology.

  • Dr. Mark Cucuzzella

    Professor at the West Virginia University School of Medicine, Air Force Reserve Lieutenant Colonel (ret)Dr. Mark Cucuzzella, Air Force Reserve Lieutenant Colonel (ret), practices at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Martinsburg, West Virginia.

  • Dr. Nicole Avena

    Dr. Nicole Avena is an Associate Professor of Neuroscience at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, and a Visiting Professor of Health Psychology at Princeton University. She is a research neuroscientist and expert in the fields of nutrition, diet and addiction, with a special focus on nutrition during early life and pregnancy, and women’s health.

  • Dr. Thomas Weimbs

    Dr. Weimbs received his doctoral degree from the Department of Biochemistry of the University of Cologne, Germany, in 1993. In 2005, Dr. Weimbs was recruited to the Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and moved his laboratory to UCSB. Dr. Weimbs is currently an Associate Professor in MCDB and in the Neuroscience Research Institute.

  • Ken Johnson

    Ken Johnson, PT, Executive Director of Ambulatory Rehab Therapy Services has served at Johns Hopkins Hospital for the past 14 years. He oversees clinical operations and programs, education programs, and clinical research initiatives for the community and hospital-based outpatient rehabilitation network clinics throughout the Baltimore metropolitan area.
